It’s Time to Pay it Forward

In the summer and fall of 2013,  Justin Hines and Ash & Bloom embarked on “The Vehicle of Change Tour” across North America where 100% of the proceeds were donated to over 70 different charities.   Just before the tour, a wheelchair accessible RV was kindly donated under the condition that Justin and his team would “Pay It Forward” to another deserving cause. The RV travelled over 20,000 km and represented the spirit of this meaningful adventure.   Have a look a couple videos from the tour with the RV:   www.youtube.com/embed/WukC1-zVjJM www.youtube.com/embed/5QnS5wNzD7c   The time has come to donate the “Vehicle of Change” to its new home.   It will need to be towed and has a few issues that will need to be addressed before getting it back on the road but will definitely be worth the loving attention it requires. The RV itself is is 14 feet long and has a electric lift to the inside suitable for most wheelchairs which is uncommon for this method of travel. It is currently being stored outside Barrie, Ontario and can be picked up immediately.   We’d love to hear why you think you could give the “VOC” a good home so please feel free to respond to this ad with your story. Thank You for Changing the World

Dear friends, We’ve made memories and connections that will last us a lifetime. We’ve witnessed firsthand how alive and well the spirit of community really is. We’ve been through peaks and valleys on a journey that continually brought us to meaningful places full of generous people. After over 3 months and 20,000 KM, the “Vehicle of Change” is officially parked (for now) and I thank YOU for making this life changing experience happen. Someone along the road said to us that it seems the currency of the tour was not “money” but rather “giving”, meaning people offered whatever they could to keep things rolling. Whether it be the folks in Outlook, Saskatchewan who offered us their motel to lay our heads, the church manager in Toronto who postponed his vacation so he could donate his much needed services to the venue, or Stewart and Lily-Jean who got the “pay it forward” spirit started by donating our ride for the tour, everyone’s contributions meant the world to so many people across the continent. Of course there are the 70+ charities themselves who should be recognized for continually providing support for very deserving people. I’m telling you folks, don’t buy into the mindset of thinking that the world is falling apart and we have nothing to strive for. Yes, things are constantly changing. We have fear, obstacles and horrible occurrences. We also live in uncertainty of what tomorrow will bring. We do, however, have tons of good left in us to combat the things that challenge us with the biggest weapon being love. We’ve seen what love can do and seeing how it can breed things like understanding, generosity and ultimately change. This tour wasn’t about us musicians playing shows in random locations. Music was just our way of contributing. In fact, it wasn’t about anybody as individuals. It was a collective attempt to shine a spotlight on a concept that deserves its time to shine, goodness. It’s comforting to know that concept lives in the souls of many. Be well everybody and we’ll see you in the next chapter… Love,...

JustInspirational…

Here’s a poem written by a young woman named Emilee Nimentz, inspired by Justin. She delivered this poem in spoken word on Monday July 15th at Justin’s Vehicle of Change tour stop in London, Ontario benefitting One Good Turn. Have a read through! ______ We are the artists. We are the writers of our destinies. you, me, us, all – Have lines that shape the corners of our lips from where we have laughed so hard. Some coming in around our eyes from where we have fought back flood gates of tears. Would it be nice if we didn’t know darkness? Would our skin look so smooth? Hands soft, Fingers unfurled. Would we know the burn in our legs? From charging up mountains – Or would our muscles be wasting away along with our laughter? How can we triumph without any falls? You see – The stars are old – Because they are waiting for us to reach them. Millions of years – Lost in galaxies. Sometimes they try to trick us. Sometimes they shoot across the sky just hoping to get our attention Reach. Until there is no blood left in your fingertips – Until you have used every fibre of every spec of every hope in every cell. Dreams are weaved from the toughest of fabrics – Do not forget this. But, do not compare. Struggle is what toughens our thread – Because some of our mountains are other people’s molehills – Sometimes other people’s mountains are your Everest’s, Your Galaxies, Your How-Could-I-Ever’s. Or sometimes your struggles are just putting on socks or looking in a mirror. Sometimes your bones have been fused together. You see, they were reaching so high. And often times – Our struggles are just a push off the horse to get the courage to remember freedom and bareback riding. Sometimes it’s the stars – Finding ways to grab our attention. Here: They gave you a scalpel. Open up your hand. Show off the lines set in stone by triumphant clenched fists. Put an incision, Deep into your chest, On your sleeve, Or wherever you keep your heart. It will hurt, it will hurt, it will hurt. Courage...
