This past April, Justin Hines and the ‘Justinspired’ team set out for South Africa to continue to spread the gift of education to kids in need across the country and to also play for the annual Nelson Mandela Bay Splash Festival. The four-day show, which had a total audience of over 400,000, was a huge success. During Justin’s final performance of the day where he played “Say What you Will” (The #1 song in South Africa), audience members proceeded to raise their own homemade signs, similar to that in the music video. “A song can make a difference” was one of those messages, and what a difference it has made!
The last time the Justinspired team left South Africa they knew they had done good work at the Despatch Primary School donating school supplies and helping the school under-go a makeover. The team was eager to see what more could be done. Now almost one year later the Justinspired team has managed to reach over 20 schools across townships in South Africa and have helped create positive change within the surrounding communities. In all, over twenty-two thousand children have been recipients of the Justinspired Campaign receiving everyday educational necessities such as pens, pencils, food and clothing. Even after a long and rewarding journey the team continues to make efforts in South Africa and shows no signs of slowing down.
