JUSTIN HINES AND SYMPATICO.CA’S INMUSIC.CA TEAM UP IN ONLINE
CONTEST FOR ORDINARY PEOPLE DOING EXTRAORDINARY THINGS
August 26, 2011 – JUSTIN HINES and SYMPATICO.CA’s INMUSIC.CA are searching for people across Canada who are making a difference in the lives of others. The winner(s) of the online contest will have their inspiring stories documented by Justin’s camera crew and showcased on Sympatico.ca’s inMusic.ca, hosted by the Toronto singer-songwriter. The contest ends August 30, 2011 and entry is open now at http://sympaticocontests.ca/contests/justinhines/.
“I’m blown away by the amazing people I meet every day,” says Hines. “I think this project is a great way to recognize some of the great work that they do.”
Hines and Sympatico.ca’s inMusic.ca are asking people to submit 150 words or less about how they, or someone they know, are making a difference in the lives of others.
“Sympatico.ca’s InMusic.ca is thrilled to be working with Justin Hines to shine the spotlight on inspirational people from across our country,” said Michele Ferrari, Senior Director of Portal Content and Operations, Sympatico.ca. “Justin himself has been such a great friend, and inspiration to all of us.”
The contest follows Hines’ new release of DAYS TO RECALL which features the single “Tell me I’m Wrong,” currently continuing its rise on the American AC charts (#31 the week of August 8). The music video focuses on the devastation caused by the recent tornado in Joplin, Missouri and the unbreakable spirit of the community as they rebuild their homes and their lives.
“Tell me I’m Wrong,” is an iTunes’ free Song of the Week and you can see it here. Dates for Justin’s PBS television Special with RON SEXSMITH, THE CANADIAN TENORS, SIERRA NOBLE and NATALIE MACMASTER have just been announced and Hines is in the US taping appearances at TV stations across the country.
“A trickling new-country verse, a dip to the bridge, the earnestly sweeping Bieberesque chorus. A love song from the inspirational Ontario singer songwriter has hit written all over it – tell us we’re wrong.” – Globe and Mail, Essential Tracks, August 9.
